The Post That Almost Was

(This post has been sitting in my draft folder since November.  I never claimed to be timely here….)

When the Cubs were down 3 games to 1 against the Indians, I pretty much assumed we’d have to wait at least one more year for glory.  I doubt I’m alone in that.

So, as part of what little spare time I had (in November and finalized recently), I fixed up a few baseball card scans.

Regular refractor

I don’t have many Indians cards in my scan folders as there’s really no reason to keep examples ready of random teams.  But, I do have a few thanks to Kerry Wood.

X-Fractor, which is really a box-fractor

The concept behind the post was that either way a Kerry Wood team was going to win themselves a championship.

His goatee looks more gold than the border

I don’t know if he would be happy for them, since there’s not a long history of him being on the team.

Blue variation #/99 – still need almost all others

I also know that he was actively cheering/rooting on the Cubs.

Still need 13 more from this set, including 4 more dual relics

See?  Even when it’s an Indians card, he’s still representing the Cubs.

I don’t know where I’m going with this.  Good thing the Cubs came back and won 3 games in a row to take the series. Otherwise, you would have had to suffer through this loose concept.
