Well, I’m said to say we’ve come to the end of the line of this Community Break. I hope everyone out there had as good a time watching as I did opening. But before we wrap this thing up officially, I have one more box to “showcase.” 2005 Fleer Showcase, that is.
How’d we do?
Really, really well all around. This is the third or fourth box where we beat the stated odds in a big way, and I couldn’t be happier about the results. I think the inserts, while not incredibly varied, were at least frequent considering it’s a 20 pack box. I think that this was probably my favorite box out of all of them.
Yup, Torii Hunter shows up as our parallel once again. I wonder if that’s supposed to be some sort of sign. He’s numbered to 99. As is Ted Williams, which was a nice little surprise.
The box promises one legacy auto and we got three. I love Fleer. And we even got the Expos/Nationals into the mix. No one claimed the Rays, so the Crawford is for trade. But, that’s not all!
If you’re going to get relic cards, you can’t hope for much better player selection than this. Mauer was just hitting the scene and is basically the best “Wave of the Future” relic you can find in the box. No one claimed Twins, so this is for trade as well. Then, you have that incredible Ortiz patch card #2/50. So, TJ, I think that card cements the Pujols triple jersey from the last box in Mojo’s stack. If you guys remember the Paul Pierce patch we got from the Timeless Treasures tin Panini sent us, this is on the same level of awesome. And it happens to be another Boston player. Just fantastic.
And there you have it. Your final totals are at the bottom here. I’m glad some of the teams didn’t get claimed since they were kind of sparse. We were able to get 10 of you guys hits, which I love to see. I’m sorry it couldn’t be everyone, but you can’t say the over-loaded boxes didn’t try! I’ll have one more post where I random the few cards left to random and then I’ll get all this stuff packed up. This weekend is filled with wedding oriented activities, so I won’t be able to start stuffing bubble mailers until next week sometime. Once again, if you don’t want the doubles for whatever reason, let me know and I’ll pull them from your stacks, otherwise you get it all since I don’t need it.
Thanks to everyone for making this so much fun. Hopefully I can squeeze in another one before the year is through.

holy crap! That Ortiz is fantastic! This was by far the most successful group break I’ve ever been involved with. Thanks guys.
What a great box to end on, well great for a lot of people anyway. The Rockies experienced a shutout, which considering the 2005 year, shutouts happened with great frequency. Oh well, congrats to those who had big hits and I look forward to your next break Jon…this was a good one thanks.
Awesome break dude, thanks!
Great box and break!
I would like the Mauer. When I get home I’ll check what I have to offer.
Waited til the last box to get a hit! Weeeeee!
It would’ve been an enjoyable break even without the hit. Many thanks for the entertainment. Watched all the videos except for this last one (when I get time on the weekend I will).
Nice break! If you decide to do another, under less bronchial circumstances, you can count me in!
Terrible collation on that last box…only went 1 for 4 on the A’s teamset but dupes galore flying for others. Cool design though and very nice hits. Love those wave of the future cards.
Thanks for the break, I enjoyed every second of it and am happy with my stack of A’s. Please do another one soon!
Thanks for organizing the break. It’s been a blast (and landed some cool cards to boot).
