Topps Community Break Box #10: 2004 Topps Total

What a promising crop of cover boys down there.  I feel like that’s the perfect analogy for Topps Total.

If you didn't have a card for you team before, you do now!

It’s worth mentioning each and every time, all of these boxes are courtesy of our good friends and Community Break Sponsor: BASEBALL CARD EXCHANGE

Totally worth buying from

As you’ll see, I wasn’t going to chance the battery issue with a 360 card long box.  Webcam coming in from the pen to close out the break.  Will it get the save?

I still don’t understand the blogger love for this set.  People seem to like it.  I don’t like 880 cards with a parallel and massive insert sets.  You’d need a case and great collation for a chance at a master set thanks to the inserts alone.  Lucky for you guys, you’re now well on your way to a team set, I hope.

I forgot to crop the image. Could fix it, but I'm not going to use this again...it stays!

Total Production scanned like Total Poo.  They look cool in person at least.

Why would anyone try to collect the silver set? You people want this stuff back?

Sad to say, these are the 8 best players I could find in our silvers.  Seriously.  This set doesn’t need parallels.  It should be anti-parallel.

No team got more than 1 insert, which is cool.  I like spreading things around like that.  Unfortunately a couple of the claimed teams got the short end of the stick.  In a 360 card box, with near even team sets possible, you’re looking at about 12 cards per team that should be pulled on average.  Most fit that framework.  Unfortunately, the Reds wound up with only 7.  The Dodgers got a lowly 5.  The Rockies walked away with an insert, but also only 2 base cards.  Two.  You have to be kidding me.  I thought it was a mistake, like I made two piles for the same team, but no.  Sorry, hiflew. I hope the Helton shiny eases the pain a little.

Only one more box to go and I think the webcam loaded up the bases.  Can we get out of this jam?  Stay tuned.
