Upper Deck Community Break Box #7: 2007 Upper Deck Elements

What’s the next box on our list?  Elements, my dear break watchers.

This is why I’m not a professional writer.

This is how mini boxes should be done

It’s worth mentioning each and every time, all of these boxes are courtesy of our good friends and Community Break Sponsor: BASEBALL CARD EXCHANGE

And this is how box buying should be done!

Catch all the wonders through the magic of motion pictures.

The box contains three separate mini boxes.  Each mini box has one type of cards printed with a unique technology.  It’s a fun format and one that should have lasted longer than a year.

Basically one pack's worth of each type

Up top you have the foil board cards. Those aren’t particularly unique or uncommon in card making, but they still look nice.  The design allows the foil board to supplement the look, not create and overpower it.  The middle row is your LtFx.  Basically I take it to mean etched.  It’s a slightly textured finish which plays nicely, if muted, in the light.  Lastly we have the acetate cards.  The problem with them is the see-through nature, but that’s also the entire appeal.  The only wish is that the backs were restructured to account for the transparency so we didn’t have to see the box score across the chest.

All numbered to 550.

Each mini box also promised one numbered rookie card.  2007 has some pretty good names.  Obviously Adam Lind was the biggest in our batch.

But wait, there are more elements to these boxes.  (Again, not a pro here)

Trying to think of a periodic table joke, but I got nothing

Each mini box also promises a hit.  It’s really nice to see these get spread around amongst the participants.  So far not a single one has gone to an unclaimed team.  That wasn’t the case last year in my Topps break where I walked away with a handful of them.  I wouldn’t have minded the Randy Johnson if the Diamondbacks weren’t claimed, but something tells me Buckstorecards will be happy to welcome it into his home.  Congratulations to Madding and Joe Average Collector on their autograph cards too.  Joe had commented that his Rockies weren’t doing too hot up to this point.  All I can say is that it’s not over until it’s over.

Hopefully I’ll be back tomorrow with the exciting conclusion.
