Upper Deck Community Break Box #4: 2003 Upper Deck Victory

Victory is mine!  Er…I mean ours!  Baseball cards: The CCG.  It’s probably not the first time it was tried.  And it certainly wasn’t the last time.  And it may not have been the best time.  But it…wait, what was my point?

Ah, who cares.  Psuedo-cards!

New designs!

It’s worth mentioning each and every time, all of these boxes are courtesy of our good friends and Community Break Sponsor: BASEBALL CARD EXCHANGE

Seriously people. Pick up a gift for yourself this holiday season.

I don’t show you how to play in the video below, but maybe we will someday.  Maybe. We. Will.

There are no “hits” to speak of in this.  It’s full of subsets posing as inserts and you’ll get very close to a non-SP set (the SPs being the insert/subsets) in a box.  I like the selection and variety here.

forgot to crop, but you get the idea

It’s a very colorful lot of cards.  I don’t know how they would fit into the game, but the all look pretty nice.

We got 2 Winning Formula & 2 Difference Makers (1:20 each), 3 Run Producers (1:10), 4 True Gamers (1:10), 7 Lay It On the Line & 7 Clutch Players (1:5 each), and 11 Solid Hits (1:4)

I can’t show them all, but I can show all the rare ones and a few of the parallels.

Luis is the back of your normal Victory card

In fact, I’ll show you all 5 of the Orange Tier 2 parallels (1:8) from the box.  The green Tier 1 say they’re 1:1, but if there was an orange in the pack, there was not a green.  I’m okay with this lie considering we beat the odds in every other respect.

Jeter, the number's down there!

Speaking of beating the odds.  These Blue Tier 3 cards have no odds.  There is a Tier 4 numbered out of 50, but we didn’t see any of those.

Congratulations to Dutch Card Guy again. Of all the players to get a Blue, this is probably the biggest name in the set.

I know it’s a little unusual, but that’s the kind of card I’m drawn to.  I hope everyone still enjoyed it despite the lack of crazy relic and autograph possibilities.  Sometimes the cheapies can be the most fun and I enjoyed this one a lot.
