Absolutely Free 2003 Leaf Baseball Box Group Break

Yes, that’s right.  We’re going to give away the contents of an entire box of 2003 Leaf Baseball cards for free.

240 cards worth o' puddin! Awww, yeah!

A long, long time ago Panini was sending us free boxes of cards to review.  One of those boxes was our favorite of the bunch was the 2010-11 Panini Crown Royale Hockey where we found a beautiful triple patch card seen below.

Holy Puck!

We asked our readers if we should give this thing away to one lucky, loyal reader or if we should sell it and hold a free group break so that 30 people could win.  The majority of you said to go with the free box route and that’s what we did.

Sure, it took a year, but we’re still making good on our promise.

So, you may have lost an hour this weekend, but here’s your chance to gain some free cards.  Here’s how it works:

In the comments, pick one team (only one!).  After all the teams are claimed, we’ll open it on video so everyone can see all the cards found in the box.  You’ll email us your address if we don’t have it already and then shortly thereafter the cards will arrive in your mailbox like magic.

There should be no reason why all 30 teams won’t be claimed here.  Think of it as free trade bait.  You literally have nothing to lose.  If you don’t want any of the unclaimed teams, sign up as a back-up, because… there is a catch.

We’re not going to close this right away.  After you pick your team, you’ll have to become a loyal reader of the blog for at least a short time, because between now and April 1st (no foolin’) we’re going to hide GROUP BREAK QUESTIONS in our posts.  In order for you to qualify for free cards, you’ll have to answer all five of these randomly inserted questions.

They won’t be math problems or hard trivia, but rather us asking your opinion on a specific thing or just asking you to chime in on an article.  Fair warning:  There will be questions hiding in the middle of posts, including the dreaded trade posts, but they’ll be clearly marked.  If you claim, but you don’t comment, it can go to the next person in line for your team.  All you back-up people will need to comment as well to be eligible.

Basically, we’re hoping to build readership back up while making you dance for your dinner.

What can you hope to get out of this free box?  The box mentions a 320 card set, Red Press Proofs (1:12) and Blue Press Proofs /50.

For inserts we have Certified Samples (1:23) along with mirror Red, Blue, and Gold parallels; Gold Leaf Rookies (1:24) with mirror parallels; Clean Up Crew (1:49) with jersey parallel;  Leaf ’60 (1:8) which are numbered /60 supposedly;  Home and Away (1:34 each) with jersey parallels; Slick Leather (1:21); Hard Hats (1:13) with batting helmet relic parallels.

For hits, we have the potential to find (besides the insert relic parallels above, that is) Shirt Off My Back /500 with patch parallel /50; Maple & Ash game used bat /400; Clubhouse Signatures in Bronze, Silver (/100) and Gold (/25) versions.

I don’t know what kind of hits, if any, we’re guaranteed, but hey!  It’s free!  Who’s in?
